Giuseppe Russitano did indeed make his debut with the Metropolitan Opera Company in Philadelphia, as Don Jose in Philadelphia,12/04/1894. He first sang on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera House, NYC, 12/07/1894 as The Duke in Rigoletto. The Met Opera Company at this time traveled performed in many different venues - Brooklyn, Boston, Washington, DC, St. Louis, Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit and Buffalo, NY during the opera season.
addition: Arakelyan stated Russitano made his debut in Philadelphia with the local opera house and later with the MET. This not true.Arakelyan never researches anything, he just copies.
